The Original Dog Tale

The Original Tale

Introducing Django's Tale.

Django is our amazing Dog who we couldn't imagine life without.
He is about 16 years old but still has plenty of life in him - especially when his nose picks up the smell of some food! We don't know much about Django's early life but from some of his behaviour and medical issues we don't think it was very pleasant. In 2017 he was welcomed in to our home forever and is now a very much loved and spoilt family member.

Django was found as a stray when someone found him hiding under a car. He was taken in to Battersea and this is where Sarah met him. He was terrified, trembling in his bed, refusing to move for food or water. Sarah spent hours in his kennel sitting with him trying to build a relationship and gain his trust but even chicken wasn't working.
After days and days he began to take chicken that i left next to him but he was still so scared and hadn't left his kennel yet.

Django was then taken on foster with Sarah to give him the time he needed in a more natural environment. Gradually Django showed more of his character and personality and very slowly began to trust.
Once Django had gained enough confidence Sarah introduced him to more of the world. This is when we noticed his hind gait was not right. X-rays showed a previous injury in Django's back legs that was never treated properly and has now caused Arthritis.

Django had lots of interest from people wanting to rehome him but no one was quite right for him. In the end we couldn't bare to part with him and so he was officially adopted in 2017.

He may not be able to roll over or jump through a hoop but he is a different dog to the one we first saw in kennels. The progress he has made and the confidence he has built is amazing. He is the inspiration behind A Dog's Tale as we believe each and every dog has a tale to tell and a tale to complete - Just like he did! With help from their humans dogs can achieve anything, whether it's learning tricks, manners, working on a specific issue or building confidence.
